We’ve been on this journey of life together for so long and have experienced so many beautiful moments together. From spring break trips, to Howard homecomings, soooo many Christmas white elephants, to our notorious dummy missions all through Atlanta. I quite literally cannot imagine what my life would be like without you in it.
It’s been such a blessing to have you as my bestie and I’m so excited to see this new journey that you’re taking here with Trey. You both are amazing and such a perfect fit. From days in class to countless meals at the café, I’ve had the privilege of knowing Trey for nearly 20 years. He’s someone who’s challenged me to see the world from new perspectives and has always been a source of wisdom and grounding honesty. Funny enough, we were friends for years before discovering we’re actually distant cousins, with deep family roots in Louisiana. While we’ve shared plenty of laughs over the years, I’m looking forward to even more as we continue to grow, evolve, and celebrate the future together.
I remember the countless classes we shared, pushing through each challenge side by side until we finally reached graduation. Every presentation, every group project—some I led, many you did—and through it all, we pushed one another to be better. For that, I’m truly grateful, because iron sharpens iron. Beyond all the fun of college life, it’s our shared academic victories that remain some of my proudest memories.

Greetings everyone! I’m Steph, Janae’s cousin.
Janae has always been more of a little sister than a cousin to me. We had amazing summers in Florida as children and I would always do her hair and make sure she was well taken care of. As we got older, we spent almost every Thanksgiving weekend together for our cousin “turn ups” at Suite Lounge and began taking cousin trips. Though we have experienced a lot in the last few years as a family - we’ve never left each other’s side despite the distance. I’m beyond happy and grateful that Janae has found her forever in Trey and I’m honored and ecstatic to be part of their big day.

Trey is my Older brother, I’ve known him all my life.
I don’t have a specific memory of Trey but I will say I will always remember the numerous times he allowed me to play basketball or video games like halo or madden with him and his friends. Despite being eight years younger, he always included me and made sure that I was always good.
Why wouldn’t I be hyped? My big bro’s finally getting married. I’m proud of him for finding someone who can match his energy drive and also his faith in God. As for words of wisdom: whether you and Janae know it or not Trey, the love y’all have and show for each other is very inspiring. I just pray that yall continue to inspire and show others the true meaning of black love. I’ve had the joy of knowing my baby cousin, Janae, since the day she came into this world (my mother actually helped deliver her!). Watching her grow has been nothing short of a blessing, filled with laughter and love. From our fun family Thanksgivings to those unforgettable trips to Jamaica, we created memories that I hold close to my heart.
What I really admire about her is how she keeps me on my toes when it comes to health and wellness. Her passion is contagious, and her outlook on life is simply beautiful, always lifting others up. I was so honored to be the flower girl at her parents wedding, and it brings me so much joy to see my own daughter step into that role for the Causley’s big day. Janae and I met at UGA in 2012. College is often called the best years of your life, but nothing prepared me for the irreplaceable friendship and memories we built, especially during our most cherished time as roommates.
From pulling all-nighters, forming the “Lowkey Society” (iykyk), and planning trips on minimum wage, to laughing until everything became funnier and talking about life, hopes, and everything in between until the sun came up—if you name it, we probably did it! Years later, our friendship hasn’t skipped a beat despite life changes. I can call Janae at any moment and we pick right back up, usually with her offering a personalized recommendation, remedy, or advice for whatever is going on.
Janae is one of a kind, and I am so honored to stand beside her on her big day as she says “I do” to the love of her life, Trey, and to continue supporting them as they begin this beautiful new chapter together.

I met Trey my first year at FAMU when I was pledging Alpha and he was pledging Omega. We didn’t actually meet until after we both crossed, but when we did, it was instant brotherhood. We dapped up on the Set, flicked up for a picture, and from that moment on the rest was history. We became college roommates, threw parties in college like Chill Owt with our frats, launched Lavish Ent, and later toured the country with Carpe Diem and celebrated our joint 30th birthday with 30 for 30 in LA. Let’s just say we’ve partied, A LOT lol, but we’ve been there for every step of each other’s lives, going from kids to young adults to grown men with real responsibilities, building our personal lives and always showing up for one another. Trey has become one of my closest confidants, someone I can call for anything and truly one of my best friends in life. Blood couldn’t make us any closer. My kids call him Uncle Trey, and that says it all. And we can’t wait for them to call Janae Auntie J!
I’m so excited for Trey and Janae’s wedding. Marriage is one of life’s biggest milestones, and I know Trey is more than ready for it. The leadership he shows in every part of his life is only going to grow in this new role as a husband and eventually as a father. The Causley family name is in incredible hands.
